How much will it cost to fix my tooth?

A lot of us want to know how much it will cost to get a great smile, or to just fix a tooth.
The best option is to have a diagnosis first, then your range of options and the prices for each will be provided.
We stick very close to the range set out in the British Columbia fee guide from the British Columbia Dental Association. For example, fillings will cost anywhere from $129 – $487 depending on which tooth and how many surfaces are involved in the filling.
The best guideline is to get a professional diagnosis for any dental treatment so that fee quotes can be realistic to your specific case.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept most insurance plans at Okanagan Smiles. All policies differ in deductibles, annual maximums, payment schedules, allowable fees, etc. It is important for you to be familiar with your plan. To find out what exactly your plan covers, please check your plan information that your insurance company sent to you, or contact your insurance company directly.
Please keep in mind you are responsible for your total obligation should your insurance company deny a claim, delay payment for 60 days, or if benefits are less than you anticipated.

I am going to purchase a dental insurance plan. Is there a plan you recommend?

Choosing the right dental insurance can be overwhelming. Everyone recognizes the need for dental insurance, but too often people overlook regular exams and early treatment. However, when you wait until a dental problem becomes serious, it is bound to cost you more in cost and oral health. The first step to avoiding costly dental bills is to start seeing a dentist regularly.
Dental plans usually cover a wide range of services, including: preventative care (basic), emergency care, and other major procedures such as crowns, root canals, and dentures. Dental plans pay either a fixed amount for a specific procedure, or a percentage of the cost.
To take full advantage of your dental benefits plan, visit the dentist regularly and get the preventative care you need to keep your mouth healthy. Follow the treatment plan you and your dentist have developed. Do your dental homework, brush and floss regularly and maintain a regular schedule of oral examinations and teeth cleanings.

Are children welcome at Okanagan Smiles Dentistry?

Children are always welcome. We have designed a special area in the reception dedicated to entertaining children. We have an office iPad and television to keep kids entertained, or they may pick up a book and read it on the indoor grass!

When should your child have their first dental exam?

Your child should have their first dental visit when their first tooth erupts. The visit will introduce your child to our office and staff to get them comfortable with their surroundings, then the dentist will examine their mouth. Cavity prevention tips will be discussed to give your child a healthy mouth. We believe in building a foundation of oral health for children, so they will continue these habits for decades to come!

How often should a child see the dentist

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a dental exam at least twice a year for most children. The frequency will depend on their risk of dental cavities, so let us talk about this topic together.
